Alex Ferguson is expecting a pitched battle for the Premier League this season, between six teams in a North v South slugfest.
Last season's top-four remain contenders according to the Manchester United manager, while Liverpool and Tottenham are also in the mix.
As Fergie sees it, the title race is a six-barrel shootout with bullets being fired across the length of England.
"I think you could say that five or six teams will be involved," he told Sky Sports News. "It's always hard to win the league.
"It's a league that if you look at it, in the South you have the London teams like Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea and then you have ourselves, Manchester City and Liverpool in the North. It's a really, really difficult league to win."
