When Luka Modric wheeled away to celebrate his stunning goal against Liverpool he seemed the picture of happiness.
Gone was the surly skipper seen by South Africans on Spurs pre-season tour to Mzansi.
Modric had been pining for Stamford Bridge, but Spurs boss Harry Redknapp says the Croatian schemer is now happy to stay at White Hart Lane.
The commentator said that Modric's goal came with an assist for Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, who kicked his heels in to keep the playmaker at the club. And Redknapp says Levy is now readying the details on a bumper new deal for Modric.
"Luka is fine now, he's just getting on with it," said Redknapp yesterday.
"I think the chairman will sit down with him now and discuss his contract. That's what I'd like to happen.
"It was a great strike today. That's why we were offered £40million because he's a top player."
