Leal unhappy with Jali and Segolela

Orlando Pirates coach Julio Leal has admitted that his side were not in the game during their 2-1 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday, especially Andile Jali and Tlou Segolela.

The reigning PSL champions were outplayed by Chiefs in the first half, and Amakhosi capitalised by scoring twice through Bernard Parker and Siphiwe Tshabalala.

Happy Jele got a consolation goal for Pirates in injury time.

Leal took a swipe at two of Bucs star players, Jali and Segolela, who he may regret resting on Wednesday against Santos.

Jali was dispossessed by Josta Dladla for Chiefs to score the second goal, after the midfielder tried to dribble at the back, when he should have just kicked the ball away from the danger zone.

"Some of our players, especially the two who returned to the team [Segolela and Jali], were not there and they were giving away the ball to the opponents," he laments.

"Clifford [Ngobeni] brought us back to the game, but we did not score an early goal and I believe that could have put the opponents under pressure, but we only scored in the end," he says.

On the other hand, Leal commended Chiefs for playing "better" than the two sides.

"It was a good game by Chiefs, who played better than us in the first half and got the advantage and the results," he admits.
