Lukas Podolski in 'provisional agreement' over Arsenal move

Podolski was also targeted by Arsenal during the January transfer window but, with his contract expiring next year, the expectation is that he will be available at the end of the season for about £16 million.
Ne fee has been agreed yet between Arsenal and Cologne, but it is understood that Podolski is keen on the option of playing in the Premier League.

Where will Jose Mourinho be manager next season?

Mourinho, currently in charge at Real Madrid and on course to beat rivals Barcelona to the La Liga title, is keen on a return to England, having enjoyed such a successful spell at Chelsea.
Several English clubs have been linked with the Portuguese. Tottenham would be interested if, as expected, Harry Redknapp is offered the England job.
On the other hand, an emotional reunion with Chelsea could be on the cards if Andre Villas-Boas continues to frustrate, while the future of Roberto Mancini at Manchester City is not set in stone, especially if the 'Special One' is available.
Or, do you think Redknapp will stay at Spurs and it will be Mourinho who is charged with leading the Three Lions to international glory?

AVB's Chelsea move 'a mistake'

Andre Villas-Boas's ex-employer at Porto, Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa, believes the young Portuguese manager was wrong to move to Chelsea.
Villas-Boas has had a difficult beginning to his career in west London as Chelsea have struggled to match the results of recent years.
They currently sit fifth in the Premier League and outside the Champions League qualification places.
And after just one season at Porto, Pinto da Costa believes it was too soon for the 34-year-old to try his hand in England.
"Villas-Boas went because of the huge offer Chelsea made (€15 million)," Pinto da Costa told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"The other thing that weighed heavily was the difficulties he had in emulating Mourinho's Champions League victory in 2004.
"He left thinking that Chelsea was a unique opportunity, but I believe that was a mistake because there would have been others."

Ryan Giggs aims to stay at top table

Giggs was persuaded to keep faith with his ageing limbs and the end result is a path that is now leading towards the remarkable milestone of 1,000 competitive appearances for club and country.
In Amsterdam on Thursday evening, against Ajax in the Europa League, the 38 year-old is set to play his 900th game for United. Throw in 64 appearances for Wales, and five Under-18 and Under-21 caps, and Giggs will then stand on 969 career games – so 1,000 is genuinely within reach.
“Yeah, I suppose it is,” Giggs said. “If I finish this season well and play a lot next season, I should do it, which would be great because not many have done that. Wingers certainly don’t do that very often! If I did it, it would be another thing to be proud of and to cherish.”

Abramovich ordered a series of meetings to attempt to clear the air as the Russian billionaire becomes increasingly concerned as to whether Chelsea will finish in the top four this season and, therefore, fail to qualify for the Champions League for the first time since he took ownership of the club in 2003.
