“Look, there was a bit of showboating towards the end, but if their coach is not unhappy with it then there is no problem. They should be very proud of the way they played against a Premiership team.”

Redknapp was suitably impressed with Pirates’ overall performance, saying: “They have lots of good players. They are good on the ball and very inventive around the box. I was very, very impressed and, to be fair, they looked more likely to win.”
